We say goodbye for now to Matty and Morgan, they go with our thanks and best wishes, as they have decided to leave the club to get more game time
With the recent return of the squad to virtually full strength, and the loan signings of Brad Holmes, Cian Hayes and Sam Burns, the opportunities for Matty and Morgan were looking more limited, and so they have elected to leave FC to seek game time elsewhere.
Morgan rejoined the club this season, and made a further 3 appearances for FC in late August / early September, following a long recovery over pre-season as he recovered from a fracture in his foot. Morgan needed to get back to playing and with the three attacking signings this was always going to be challenging, He's joined up with Brian Richardson at Bootle and made his debut on Saturday.
Matty joined us from Burnley, and made 14 appearances for the Reds scoring three times, perhaps most memorably in that FA Cup replay against Bootle.when he converted for a dramatic late equaliser. It's unfortunate that his preferred position was left back and with the imperious Adam Dodd holding the #3 shirt, Matty found his game time limited. At all points Matty showed his pedigree and was a delight to work with.
Both players are great to work with on and off the pitch, and we wish them all the best
