Our balls or theirs? Rochdale Hornets pick up the gauntlet
Rochdale Hornets have picked up the gauntlet thrown down by FC United of Manchester to see which club’s supporters can raise the most money for the children’s charity, Medequip4kids, and their respective clubs in a 3 mile Minithon fun run.
The second annual "Run, Walk or Crawl"?? Minithon will take place around Chorlton Meadows on Sunday October 18th. Half the money raised by participants will go to our respective clubs and half to Medequip4kids. The run will be led off by Looking for Eric film star, Steve Evetts.
Last year the Minithon raised £18,000 and we hope to double this amount. Both FC United and Rochdale Hornets are supporter-owned and run co-operative clubs in Greater Manchester, with the only difference apart from distance between us being the shape of the balls we play with.
We urge all our supporters and supporters of the co-operative movement to get involved in the challenge when the registration packs are finalised. We welcome other supporter-run clubs who wish to get involved in the challenge.
