As detailed in the club’s manifesto written in 2005 when FC United was formed it stated,
“ The club will encourage young, local participation - playing and supporting - whenever possible.” And with that, at the end of last season FC United manager Neil Reynolds promoted five U/21 players into the first team. And of the 25 players registered for the first team for next season, eleven are aged 21 or under.
Reno will be managing the team, along with Tom Conroy and Jack Doyle and under 18s staff who oversee the club’s Academy players. Reno will treat the match in the same way as any first team fixture.
As well as monitoring the progress of the seven players who have already began pre-season training, Reno and the coaching team will also to check out the remainder of the U/21 players in the club’s Academy, together with two trialists who will be looking to impress. Reno is as keen as ever to strengthen the links between the club’s Academy, U/21s and the first team.
The first team players that will be included in the squad for Saturday are:
Paddy Wharton (19) – Goalkeeper
Ryan Botell (22) – Right Back
Mason Fallon (20) – Left Back
Markell Foulds (18) – Central Defender
Aaron Morris (24) – Central Defender
Sam Harding (17) – Midfielder
Salou McDowell-Jallow (21) – Right Wing Back

We would like to encourage as many supporters as possible to come down to Broadhurst Park on Saturday to get a glimpse into the club’s future.
