You may notice that the club has appointed a new Assistant Manager, to work alongside Neil Reynolds during todays Brian Lomax Supporters Direct Trophy Match against Enfield Town FC.
Brian Richardson has nothing to worry about though, as his job is safe and today will be undertaken by 5 year old Joe Bebbington from Middleton.
Joe who was brought up from birth as an FC United fan by his Mum Kath and Dad Martin, attends Bowlee Park Community School in Middleton and rarely misses a match Home or Away. He is a real character in the SMRE and on Away Coaches as we drive around the many NPL grounds and always joins in with all the songs and cheers FC on for the full 90 minutes.
His special day as Assistant Manager for a day, was one of the Rewards in last years
“ No Drain, No Game” Crowdfunder which in total raised an incredible £32,000 for our Pitch and Drain Refurbishment and Martin kindly purchased the Reward for his son, to give Joe an unforgettable day he will always remember.
Joe will be meeting the Players and helping Reno with his pre match team talk and his Dad has got him a Reno replica suit to wear during the match, which he will watch from the Home Dug Out. If we win, he may even help Michael Potts to raise the Brian Lomax Trophy in front of the SMRE and Mainstand. Give him a cheer when you see him.
