We’ve received incredible support for our Missing Matches fundraiser from our co-owners and supporters with £23,527 donated so far. But we need your help to reach our extended target of £30,000. The loss of several Saturday matches earlier this season has posed a significant financial challenge for the club and every donation you make, no matter how small, brings us closer to the target and ensures our football club stays strong.
It’s crucial that we hit this extended target of £30,000, not only to close the financial gap this season but also as it will impact on next year’s budget if we don’t. When Mark Beesley arrived only five months ago the men’s first team were languishing in the relegation places having won only one of their first ten league games but since then Mark, and assistant manager Dave Raven, have overseen an impressive revival that’s seen us rise up the table by playing exciting, attacking football. And already, as we’ve seen with the recent signing of Rudy Misambo, they’re preparing for next season.
As co-owners we all play a crucial role in the success of our football club and whilst we don’t pick the players who represent us on the field (or their style of play) our backing from the terraces and our support for fundraising initiatives like this is second to none and crucial in providing the club with a solid financial platform which will allow Mark to strengthen the squad ahead of next season. So let’s come together and back Mark as we begin an exciting new era at FC. We are stronger United!
