Match preview for FC United's trip to face Workington AFC tomorrow afternoon in the Pitching In Northern Premier League.
Workington are currently three points behind FC in 15th place, with recent wins over Bamber Bridge and Hyde United creating breathing space for the Reds above the Northern Premier League drop zone. Fell’s side return home following a 4-2 defeat on the road at Worksop Town last weekend.
FC United manager, Mark Beesley on Workington: “I’m a big fan of them and their manager. They’ve been excellent at home this season so it goes without saying we’ll be in for a difficult game when we head up there.”
FC will be looking to avoid defeat at Borough Park for the first time on Saturday afternoon, with Workington coming out on top in the previous two meetings between the sides in Cumbria. Last season’s trip to Borough Park saw the hosts come away 2-1 winners in September 2023.
This season’s reverse fixture ended with a share of the points, as Rigg’s late penalty denied FC the win in a 2-2 draw at Broadhurst Park in November.

Nantwich Town 1-4 FC United of Manchester
EvoStik Northern Premier League
A hat-trick from Matthew Woolfenden helped FC United on their way to a comfortable 4-1 win against Nantwich Town at Weaver Stadium.
An early goal from Jordan Connerton gave the hosts the lead after two minutes, however Woolfenden equalised just before the break to restore parity at the interval. FC took control in the second half; two more for Woolfenden, either side of Carlos Roca’s strike, steered the visitors to a dominant victory in the Northern Premier League.
