Match preview of tomorrow afternoon's Pitching In Northern Premier League match between FC United and Leek Town at Broadhurst Park.
Josh Brehaut’s Leek Town sit 16th in the Pitching In Northern Premier League standings, winning 10 and drawing nine of 34 games played thus far. The Blues find themselves three points above Matlock Town who occupy the final relegation spot in 19th. Indifferent form of late has seen Leek pick up two league victories since the start of February, most recently a 1-0 win away at Hebburn Town on March 1.
Having a superior away record over their home form, Leek are currently the only side in the division to have won away at champions-elect Macclesfield, securing a 2-1 win at the Leasing.com Stadium on Boxing Day.
Hayden Campbell and Alex Hurst lead the way for our visitors in the goalscoring department with 10 apiece in all competitions. Leek arrive in Moston looking to make amends for a 1-0 home defeat to Morpeth Town last Saturday.
FC United manager, Mark Beesley on Leek Town, last time out: “There’s always a challenge going up into a new division, but Leek have done well. They’ve picked up points since the Christmas period and had good away wins over Macclesfield and more recently Hebburn.
“Our last league match at Broadhurst Park against Hebburn wasn’t the result or performance we wanted, particularly the first half. We’ve looked back at that and we know we’ll need to do better against Leek.”
