Match Preview: Hebburn Town (H) - Pitching In Northern Premier League

Match preview for FC United's home match against Hebburn Town tomorrow afternoon in the Pitching In Northern Premier League.

FC United are at home once again this weekend as Hebburn Town make the trip from South Tyneside to Broadhurst Park in the Pitching In Northern Premier League.

Our Opponents – Hebburn Town, The Hornets

Daniel Moore’s Hebburn Town sit just one point ahead of FC United in 9th place, albeit having played two fewer games. A sparkling start to the season found the newly-promoted Hornets at the top end of the Northern Premier League standings, however recent results have seen their form cooled following the turn of the new year.

Hebburn’s last win in all competitions came on New Year’s Day in a 3-1 defeat of Workington at Hebburn Sports Ground. Since then a record of two defeats and five draws in 2025 has put a slight dent on their playoff ambitions. Hebburn arrive at Broadhurst Park off the back of a 1-1 draw away at Whitby Town on Tuesday evening.

FC United manager, Mark Beesley on Hebburn Town, Bamber Bridge win: “They are a really good side. This will be our third meeting of the season, after our victory in the Trophy and then rescuing a point late on in the league fixture at their place.

“It’s always a challenge stepping up to a higher division for the first time, and you can see how well they’ve done to be in the top half of the table with some great results along the way.

“Whilst it was great to get another three points against Bamber Bridge last week, a key takeaway from the game was that we didn’t do well enough keeping hold of possession in the second half, so that’s something we know needs to improve.”

On This Day – February 22, 2014
