The Teams

On Saturday, we take on Witton Albion, who are aiming to turn their season around and escape the relegation zone. FC are aiming to continue their impressive run of games in the league and push into the playoffs.

The Table

FC United of Manchester take on Witton Albion, who sit 21st in the league table with 24 points. The visitors will arrive at Broadhurst Park having won none of their last five games, losing three, but will be aiming to jump up to 20th place – one step closer to survival. On the other hand, FC sit in 8th place with 43 points, losing just one of our last five games and getting ever closer to the playoffs. A win against the away team gives us the chance to go above Warrington Town, who sit in 7th place, despite their game in hand.

FC United of Manchester

The home team will arrive at the game with a confident attitude after their away win against Grantham Town last Saturday, beating the home team 2-1 after going a goal down. Two late goals from Linney and Donohue sealed the win for the reds who travelled all the way to Lincolnshire – a rough journey for a cold Tuesday night. With two wins and two draws from the last five games, FC will be eager to improve their great run.

Witton Albion

The visitors from Northwich will travel to Broadhurst park in terrible form. Their last result was a hard-fought 2-2 draw against our promotion rivals, Scarborough Athletic, which provided the club with a crucial point. Before their game against 5th place Scarborough Athletic, the visitors lost three games in a row, placing them near the bottom of the form table.

Head To Head

FC had a successful visit to WItton Albion’s ground last time out, beating the home side 3-2 in an eventful game in October. FC went 2-0 up in the game but the second half saw the home side score two goals in ten minutes, but a 90th minute winner from the reds saw the away side take all three points - stopping Witton Albion’s comeback. The visitors will be looking to get revenge for our heroic victory, whereas FC will be looking to strengthen their bragging rights.
