The Teams
On Saturday, FC travel to relegation fighting Gainsborough Trinity in the Northern premier league. While FC have been in excellent form, the ‘Holy Blues’ have not been so fortunate, as 17 points separate the two clubs. Three points would be extremely useful to both sides, one facing promotion and the other dangling on the threat of relegation.

The Table
FC United of Manchester take on Lancaster City, who sit 17th in the league table with just 32 points, just three places above the drop. The hosts have won only one of their last five games, and another win on could take them into 16th place – but the team above still has two games in hand. On the other hand, FC sit in 6th place with 49 points, losing just one of our last five games, winning four. A win on gives us the chance to move up to 4th place – above Scarborough and solidify our position in the promotion places.

FC United of Manchester
We will arrive at the game in good spirits, after a solid 1-0 victory against a resilient Lancaster City on Tuesday, a superb goal from Linney sealed the win for the reds. With a hattrick of wins in, FC have the best form out of all teams in the league and we look like a truly dominant force.

Gainsborough Trinity
Our hosts will arrive at the game in poor form, for the last five games, winning one, losing two and drawing two. Just five points above the drop, they will be aiming to push further up the table to ensure they survive relegation. Their last game was a tough 1-1 draw away against Staybridge Celtic, who lost to FC just a few weeks ago, as the home side scored an equaliser late on.

Head-To-Head
The last game between the two sides was one to remember for the reds as three goals in the from the home side – FC, was enough to beat the Holy Blues and take all three points. Two late goals from the away side struck fear in the hearts of all the fans, but it was not enough to gain any sort of points. Ironically, the two sides have only played one of their last five fixtures, as cancellations and postponements have been annoyingly prominent. The game is all set up to be a thrilling game, one that could either induce hopes of survival or promotion.
