On Tuesday 15^th August FC United travel to Marine FC in our second game of the league season.

Kick-off: 7:45pm

The two teams

Rossett Park was initially a very fruitful visiting ground for FC with the Reds remaining undefeated in our first 7 visits. However, our success on Merseyside has slightly curtailed in recent years and we have not come away from Marine with 3 points since 2017.

Whilst we secured a very rare opening day win, Marine drew 0-0 at Gainsborough. Full of attacking talent, the Crosby outfit have a number of faces which will be familiar to the visiting contingent: Chris Doyle, Finlay Sinclair-Smith and Will Russ.

Marine strongly advise all supporters to purchase tickets online to avoid any queues or delays. Cash or card is not accepted at the turnstiles, however there is a ticket office that will be selling tickets.

Getting to the ground

From the North

Leave the M6 at junction 26 and join the M58. Travel along the M58 to Switch Island at the end. Follow signs for A5758 (signposted Southport) and follow directions above.

From the East & South

Leave the M62 at junction6 and take the M57 to Switch Island. At the end of the M57 take the A5758 (signposted Southport & Formby), remain on this road through Switch Island and go straight across the traffic lights at the junction with the B5422, remaining on A5758. At roundabout, turn left on A565 (signposted Liverpool, Bootle & Crosby). Remain on this road through Thornton, straight on at 3 sets of traffic lights and at the roundabout remain on the A565, signposted Bootle & Liverpool. At the traffic lights in Crosby village, turn left onto the A565 (signposted Bootle & Liverpool). After ½ mile you will pass Merchant Taylors school on your right hand-side, turn right at the traffic lights onto College Road. The ground is half a mile on your left.

Answer: Marine FC once held the record for having had the longest serving manager in world football (Roly Howard 33 years). This record has since been surpassed by fellow Merseyside club Waterloo Dock who were managed by Jimmy Davies for 50 years.
