On Saturday 2nd September, kick off 3pm, FC United welcome Leamington to Broadhurst Park in the National League North - Admission is pay on the gate: £10 Adults, £6 Concessions and £3 u/18s, however if you are a resident with a M9 or M40 postcode you can collect FREE tickets prior to the match from the FC United office.

FC United go into Saturday’s match on the back of two Bank Holiday weekend wins against Boston (2-1) and York City (2-0) moving the reds up 6 places in the league from bottom to 16th.

In their first season in the National League North, Lemington have somewhat struggled so far gaining just one win (and 6 defeats) from their first 7 matches, but as FC United can testify a couple of wins can soon turn things around.

Last weekend saw new signing Steven Irwin making two substitute appearances for FC United, and was welcomed by the FC supporters by being presented with an inflatable Crocodile at York in reference to his namesake, the famous crocodile hunter.

With new signings Irwin, James Hooper and Michael Connor strengthening the midfielder, together with the return of Scott Kay, who missed the first 3 matches through suspension, FC Manager Karl Marginson has agreed for Tom Brown to join neighbours Stalybridge Celtic on a dual registration.

Tom Greaves was on the scoresheet on Monday away at York as he moves ever closer at becoming FC’s all time leading goalscorer, now 5 goals behind Rory Patterson’s tally of 99.

Off the field there’s lots going on at Broadhurst Park on Saturday.

Firstly we will be launching our Disabled Supporters Group kicking off with our Disability Team playing on the 3G Pitch from 12 noon. At half time some players will be taking part in a penalty shoot out on the main pitch. At 1.15pm we will begin the official launch of the DSA in the main bar.

In the SMRE Bar this Saturday between 12 noon and 3pm we welcome the return of Course Your Can Malcolm, our club night in the afternoon type affair, featuring an author and two music acts. CYCM is free to attend.

For Saturday’s match 1,500 free tickets are to be given away to local residents and community groups located in the M9 and M40 postcode areas and will build on the success from the similar initiative we ran at the end of last season.

Residents who have an M40 and M9 postcode can collect up to 4 tickets per household from the FC United office on the production of a utility bill or driving licence which displays their M40 or M9 postcode. The FC United office at Broadhurst Park will be open weekdays between 9am and 5pm for residents to collect tickets.

Tickets will not be available to collect on the day of the match, so if you wish to come along and watch the match for free, please collect your tickets from Broadhurst Park before 5pm on Friday 1st September.
