MATCH ARRANGEMENTS: FC United Legends vs Len Johnson FC

On Saturday 27^th May FC United of Manchester are excited to be hosting FC United Legends vs Len Johnson FC. Kick-off 2pm

The fixture is part of a fundraising campaign which aims to recognise the former uncrowned boxer Len Johnson with a statue in Manchester city centre; momentum is beginning to build as the likes of Ricky Hatton, Andy Burnham and Anthony Crolla are just some of the celebrities that will turn out for Len Johnson FC. The FC United Legends team will be made up of many familiar faces such as Tommy Greaves, Jerome Wright, Rhodri Giggs and yes, ‘the man with no name’ (Rory Patterson) will be making an appearance. Karl Marginson will be returning to the dugout to manage the Legends team who have recently added Women’s Team captain Kirsty Chambers to their ranks.

Tickets 

Tickets can be purchased online or via pay on the gate on the day of the game. There is a discount for current FC United Members, please note you will be asked to confirm your membership number at the turnstile. For those paying on the day, cash and card payments are accepted.

Adult                 £15.00 (£12.00 for FC Members)

U16s                  £5.00 (£3.00 for FC Members)

Matchday Information

Turnstiles 1 – 4 will be open for the game, and entry to the ground will be permitted from midday.

Our turnstiles are operated by volunteers and we would appreciate supporters arriving at the ground in time for kick-off so that the volunteers can finish as early as possible. If you would like to register an interest in working the turnstile for a game, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator laura.bagley@fc-utd.uk or ring the office 0161 769 2005.

Entry via Reception will be reserved for players, officials and those requiring lift access; there will not be the option of paid entry through Reception for this game.

Season Ticket/TMTB Purchases & Collection

Those supporters who have purchased their Season Ticket/TMTB before the 24^th May will have the opportunity to collect their ticket books at the game.

Tables will be set up in the North Stand to allow for collection from our band of tireless volunteers. If supporters could provide proof of name/address on collection it would be much appreciated.

We are still looking for extra help on the day; if any supporter attending the fixture could assist with distributing the ticket books, please email laura.bagley@fc-utd.uk ring 0161 769 2005 or arrive at the ground for midday and come to the club office.

Food & Beverages

The SMRE kiosk and Kazbar will be open with Quirky Catering supplying their usual delicious match day delicacies; pies, samosas, hot dogs and much more. If you haven’t tried the ‘Bombay Sandwich’ this is your chance – Balti pie and samosa, with mint and chilli sauce in a barm!

The Sweet Stall will be providing their usual array of sugary treats and a variety of soft drinks.

The Main Bar will be open from midday with last orders at 5:30pm to allow for the room to be prepared for the Stockport Branch fundraising party in the evening. If you would like to read more about the party and to purchase tickets you can do so here.

For this fixture the SMRE will be operating as a bottle bar only and will be open from midday, closing at half time. 

'Special' Pound For The Ground &​​​​​ Statue:

We'll be running a special half-time draw at this event with half of the profits from ticket sales being donated to the campaign to have a statue of Len Johnson erected in Manchester City centre. Jackie will be selling tickets from her usual table located inside the turnstiles at St Mary's Rd end but with some of our regular sellers unable to attend the event, we need the help of others to ensure that we sell as many tickets as possible and make a valuable contribution to the campaign. If you can help out at all, please email laura.bagley@fc-utd.uk or turn up on the day and collect some tickets from Jackie. 

CYCM

Course you can Malcolm will be taking on a slightly different twist on the day, with an amazing roster of artists taking to the stage both before and after the match.

There are still acts to be confirmed but we’re sure to be entertained by the likes of Meduulla, Rootz, JSD, Rumbi Tawo, Yemi Bolatiwa, K.I.M.E., Lewis Manny and P1 Caps. 

We’ve a 12:30pm start time for CYCM in the SMRE, running through till 1:30pm. Then the music continues after the game up in the Main Bar until last orders at 5:30pm.  

Getting to the Game

Car parking is available at Broadhurst Park (310 Lightbowne Road, M40 0FJ), the price is £5 and payment is made in cash, on arrival at the ground. 

Please note that St. Matthews Car Park is not available.

In fairness to our neighbours, please do not park on St Mary’s Road or the side roads thereof.  Please use Lightbowne Road.

Membership Stall
Please note the Membership Stall will be closed for this fixture, Season Tickets and TMTBs can be purchased from the tables set up in the North Stand.

The FCUM Club Shop is packed with great items to suit every budget. Open from 12:00pm until 3:00pm and then for 20 minutes after the game has finished.
