MATCH ARRANGEMENTS: Durham Cestria

On Sunday 24th September FC United Women make the trip to County Durham to face Durham Cestria in the National League Division One North.  

Kick-off: 2:00pm

Venue: Durham University, Maiden Castle, The Graham Sports Centre, DH1 3SE.

The two teams

FC will be looking to get a good result against North East opposition for the second game in succession; last Sunday’s superb 5-4 win over Chester Le Street bringing the first win of the season as the Reds rose to 8th in the league table. Chaneece Reeves bagged a brilliant hattrick in the win and will be looking to get on the scoresheet once again. The team have put in some good performances this season, and will hope the results now start to match their efforts.

Durham Cestria missed out on promotion by goal difference last season, as local rivals Newcastle United pipped them to the championship. A tough start to this campaign has seen just a solitary win so far, with the team hovering above the relegation places.

Durham is well-known for its beauty, with the magnificent cathedral being granted UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 1986. Durham was also the birthplace of Neil Fingleton – for what was he known?
