MATCH ARRANGEMENTS - Scarborough Athletic (Away) Saturday 19th February

FC United of Manchester (6th) vs Scarborough Athletic (4th)

Flamingo Land Stadium | Saturday, 19 February | 15:00 PM

 The Teams

We face fellow fan-owned and promotion rivals Scarborough Athletic away today, both sides have been impressive form recently playing entertaining and attacking football. However, a couple of unfortunate results for FC have allowed a six-point gap to appear between the two clubs – however, we have a good chance of rectifying this weekend.

The Table

We are currently nine points behind league leaders Matlock Town, who have three games in hand. However, we are still just outside the play-off spots and a win against Scarborough could allow FC to go level on points with Warrington Town, who at the time of writing, sit in 5th place. Three points on Saturday would also stop Bamber Bridge (7th) and Whitby Town (8th) from rising above FC as they are both on 49 points – however they both have games in hand.

FC United of Manchester

FC's recent form saw us rise to the top of the form table on the last 15 games, but two successive reverses against Gainsborough Trinity and Warrington Town have made the task a little bit harder, but with a quarter of the league campaign to go, nothing has been won or lost and there's more than enough talent, character and spirit in the FC squad to resume the winning run.

Scarborough Athletic

Our hosts will be in good spirits as they are unbeaten in their last nine games, winning six. Their last game was a dominant 2-0 away win against Lancaster City, with a goal in each half gave them the points, and dented Lancasters playoff hopes, as it followed the 1-0 defeat to FC in midweek.

Head-To-Head

The last game between the two sides was a dream for the Reds, beating Scarborough 6-0 at home. A truly magical day for FC who will be hoping the away fixture goes half as well, as three goals in each half from Regan Linney, Paul Ennis, Matty Rain and a double from Cedric Main proved to be too much for the visitors. We will be hoping for a similar result this weekend but the hosts are in good form now so expect a far bigger challenge.
