Mark, Dave and Carl Agree New Three Year Deals!

FC United of Manchester is delighted to confirm that First Team Manager Mark Beesley, Assistant Manager Dave Raven and Coach Carl Macauley have all agreed new three-year contracts with the football club.

The new agreements will commence on 1 July 2026 and provide long-term continuity and stability for the men’s first team following a season which saw FC compete at the top end of the Northern Premier League Premier Division and reconnect supporters with the football side of the club.

The management team, who were entering the final year of their existing contracts, have played a major role in rebuilding belief and momentum around the football side of the club — not just through results and performances, but through the standards, identity and connection they have helped rebuild between the team and supporters.

Under their leadership, FC recorded its highest average home league attendance since the club competed in National League North, while supporters travelled in huge numbers across the country as belief and excitement returned around Broadhurst Park.

Chair Nick Boom said:

“We felt it was important to act early and provide stability around the football side of the club.

I think everybody has seen the progress made this season — not just in terms of results, but in standards, professionalism, connection with supporters and the overall environment that has been created around the first team.

One of the board’s priorities has been creating the conditions for long-term success at FC United — building sustainably, raising standards and putting the right structures in place both on and off the pitch.

We believe Mark, Dave and Carl are absolutely the right people to continue driving that forward.

There’s still a lot of hard work ahead and nobody is getting carried away, but this gives us a really strong platform to keep moving forward together.”

First Team Manager Mark Beesley added:

“Firstly, I just want to say thank you to everyone connected with FC United for the support this season.

The support home and away has been outstanding and the players and staff have genuinely felt that all year.

Obviously we’re disappointed not to have finished the job because once you’re up there, you want to go all the way. But I think we’ve taken some big steps forward together — not just in results, but in belief, standards and the connection between the team and the supporters again.

There’s also a real drive and clear direction at the club now, with the right values, ambition and leadership around the place, and a genuine determination to unlock the potential of this amazing football club.

As a management team, that gives Dave, Carl and myself real confidence and we’re delighted to be continuing the journey here.

There’s still a lot of hard work ahead and nobody’s getting carried away, but we believe there’s something really positive building at FC United and we’re excited for what comes next.”
