Manchester FA She Belongs Standard

We're delighted to have been awarded the She Belongs Standard by the Manchester FA in recognition of the club’s commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment for women and girls in football.

The award reflects the significant progress made across the club in recent years to strengthen opportunities for women and girls both on and off the pitch, and to ensure that FC United remains a club where everyone feels represented, valued and able to participate.

We particularly welcome the feedback from the assessment panel recognising the club’s positive and inclusive culture, including the visibility and celebration of female players and teams throughout the stadium and wider club environment.

This recognition is the result of a collective effort across many areas of the club and special thanks go to Stacy Partridge (our Community Manager), staff, volunteers, coaches and everyone involved in developing the women’s and girls’ pathway and helping create an environment that reflects the club’s values of equality, inclusion and community.

We also welcomes the panel’s constructive recommendations around further enhancing facilities and provision for women and girls, which will help inform future improvements and funding opportunities.

Alongside this, we recently welcomed the BBC for a piece which featured on 'Morning Live' this week, discussing the challege of tackling misogyny in the game. The piece featured Her Game Too - another organisation we are proud to support.

This award is another important milestone in the club’s ongoing commitment to growing the women’s and girls’ game and ensuring football at FC United is accessible and welcoming to all.
