Loan Signing: Forward Jake Charles joins from Scarborough

With an eye on adding more firepower to the FC forward line, Neil Reynolds has secured the signing of Jake Charles on an initial months loan from National League North outfit, Scarborough, who we thank for making this deal possible. 

Jake, 27, is an experienced, powerful attacker and Neil had this to say "I've been a big admirer of Jake for a while now and we enquired about him last season, we lost out then but we've managed to sign him on loan for the next month. 

He's a strong quick centre forward who can hold up the ball and has a great eye for goal, and will be a great addition to our attacking line-up "

For his part Jake said "I'm really looking forward to getting a good run of games after dislocating my shoulder last year, having surgery and getting back playing in February. I'm fit and ready to get a good run of games in and showing the FC fans what I can do

I'm a hardworking #9, so out of possession I'll will press defenders and close them down, then when we're attacking I get in behind the back line, I’ll be a nuisance for defenders and try to make sure I'm in the box to get on the end of any chances that are created

I met up with the team last night and we had a good training session, I have played with Charlie Ennis previously at Stalybridge and had a few battles with Curtis Jones down the years, so really looking forward to getting out there in front of the FC fans and bagging a few!"

Jake goes straight into the squad for the Workington game.
