Kyle Wilson
FC United’s leading goalscorer Kyle Wilson is signing for League 2 side Macclesfield Town. The 23 year old hitman, who was third highest scorer in the UniBond Premier League last season despite missing the final quarter through injury, has taken the opportunity to become a full time professional with the Silkmen.
Although sad to see him go, manager Karl Marginson wished him all the best at Moss Rose. A former Mac player himself, Karl said: "We are happy for Kyle because he is a very good player who drifted out the game for a while until we coaxed him back. He deserves the chance to make it as a professional player and we’re pleased to play our part in making that dream possible"??.
"Kyle was unlucky with injury last season and had he been fully fit towards the end, he may have made a difference during the final few games. But it wasn’t to be and now we must wish him luck as he moves on"??.
"We will never stand in the way if players wish to make a living playing football; in fact we will help them do that. So we say goodbye to another very good player, but there will be more to come."
Meanwhile, Margy was confident that the rest of the squad will be at Gigg Lane next season. "We’ve spoken with all the lads and they have all said they want to be here next season and keep what I believe is our best ever squad together. There’s a few negotiations to be had, but we’re looking forward to having a good crack at the title next season with this great set of lads. I honestly believe that had they been together from August we would have gained promotion."
