Jennie Swarbrick on FCUMW's Cup Final Victory

Firstly, I would like to say a huge thank you to all of our fans who attended the Cup final on Wednesday, and for their ongoing support, and have stood by us throughout what has undeniably been a challenging season. Your continued support and backing have helped up to stay being resilient this season and we are proud that we have been able to get the win, and bring the Manchester FA Challenge Cup Trophy back to Broadhurst Park!

We knew it was going to be a tough challenge, as Mancunian Unity have gone all season undefeated, but we prepared well and I am pleased with how the team stepped up to the challenge, keeping a clean sheet and confidently winning on penalties.

Congratulations to Isabella Kershaw on being awarded POTM for her performance. She displayed smart interceptions and strong tackles, as well as causing a constant threat down the left side.

As special mention must go to Sophie Donald, who once again, showed her quality to make the match winning save in the penalty shoot out!

Having such a positive result in our penultimate game of the season will hopefully help is to have one last push, as we play our final game of the season vs Hull City on Sunday 5^th May, 2pm KO. I would like to invite all of our fans to come and support us for 1 last game of the season, and aim to finish on a high.
