The 23-year-old attracted the attention of the National League North side following a stand-out 2025-26 campaign which saw him bag 15 goals in 43 appearances and saw him sweep up the Russell Delaney Supporters’ Player of the Season Award, alongside the Players’ Player of the Season and Manager’s Player of the Season awards.
Jay joined from Atherton Collieries in the summer of 2023. After a disrupted 2023-24 season, Jay returned in 2024/25 making 40 appearances and scoring 11 goals. The midfielder started off last term by scoring in each of the first three matches of the season, but really came into his own after Christmas, scoring 10 goals in a 13-game spell between January and April.
In total, Jay made 105 appearances in an FC shirt, scoring 29 goals.
Whilst we are disappointed to see Jay leave, the move to Hednesford Town offers him the opportunity to play full-time football, which he indicated that he wanted to pursue. The deal remains subject to final approvals from the National League, Northern Premier League and the Football Association.
Everyone at Broadhurst Park wishes Jay all the best for this next step in his career in the game.
