Introducing Our New Post-Match Event for 2025/26 – Join Us in the SMRE Bar

We’re creating a new post-match event in the SMRE Bar for the 2025/26 season, shaped by feedback from supporters who’ve told us they want a welcoming space after the match to gather, reflect and celebrate together. Previously, post-match gatherings have been in the Function Room, but we’re moving them to the SMRE Bar to create a proper event, with a clear start and finish, and an environment that feels right for FC United fans.

The SMRE is our supporters’ bar, decked out with our flags, scarves and photos, making it feel like home. We know supporters value this atmosphere, and we’re building on it to create a space that’s ours after the final whistle.

We’re also giving certainty around timings, so supporters know how long they can stay without being rushed to finish their drinks. Last orders will be at 7.00pm, with the bar closing at 7.30pm, giving everyone a relaxed and clear window to enjoy the post-match buzz.

With music, post-match reflections from Mark Beesley, words from our FC Man of the Match and the chance to get a selfie or autograph with players, we’re creating a space where supporters can come together in a way that feels true to who we are as a club.

A New Matchday Routine – Starting This Saturday vs Bradford City

5:00pm – Music in the SMRE Bar
We’ll keep the atmosphere going with music after the final whistle. Whether you’re chatting about the match or catching up with friends, it’s a good place to start your evening.

5:30pm – Live Interview with Mark Beesley & Man of the Match
Hear Mark’s thoughts on the game and a few words from the Man of the Match, giving you direct insight into what went on out on the pitch.

5:45pm – Drinks, Music & Chat with the Players
Grab a drink, enjoy the music, and have a chat with the players before they head home. Photos and autographs for young fans (and not-so-young fans) are always welcome.

7:00pm – Last Orders
We’ll call last orders at 7pm, giving you a couple of hours to enjoy the post-match atmosphere.

7:30pm – Bar Closes

Why the SMRE?

We know many supporters are used to heading into the Function Room after games, and we appreciate this change to the routine. The SMRE Bar has always been at the heart of our matchdays, and we’re looking to build on that spirit with this new post-match event, giving everyone a welcoming place to come together with players, staff, and fellow supporters.

Running this event in the SMRE also allows us to open the Function Room for private bookings, which are increasingly in demand and provide important income that supports the club’s sustainability and growth.

A Note on the Function Room

To support the growing number of private bookings, the Function Room will close at 4:30pm on matchdays. We’re grateful for your understanding as we work to keep matchdays lively while making the best use of our spaces.

If you have any mobility concerns and need assistance getting to or using the SMRE Bar, please get in touch with the club in advance. We’ll be more than happy to support you with any arrangements you need to enjoy your matchday.
