Gribbin’s stoppage time screamer sees FC United beat Matlock

Former Manchester United youngster Callum Gribbin curled home a 92nd minute free-kick as FC United spectacularly sealed a 2-1 victory over Matlock Town at Broadhurst Park on Tuesday night.

Captain Charlie Ennis set the Reds on their way to their first victory in five league matches by converting a penalty inside the first 10 minutes, after Regan Linney had been brought down in the box.  

However, the visitors were back on level terms just nine minutes later when Alex Wiles took advantage of some static defending to finish from close range. The Gladiators looked the livelier of the two sides as the game went on, but it was FC United who stole all three points at the death with a sublime strike – so good, it would be worthy of winning any football match.
