Get Involved – Volunteer Opportunities at FC United

FC United has always been built on the passion, commitment, and dedication of our volunteers. The board has made it clear—this club doesn’t function without staff and volunteers working together for the good of FC United. And right now, we’re seeing more people than ever stepping up to help, which is a brilliant reflection of what this club means to so many.

The response to our recent call for office volunteers has been outstanding, with nine fantastic people now regularly supporting key functions like IT, membership, cash counting, and general enquiries. The matchday litter-picking team has grown, too, with seven new volunteers helping keep our ground tidy after games. And beyond matchdays, our growing community programme means more people from local colleges, universities, and the wider community are getting involved with FC United for the first time.

To everyone already giving their time—thank you. You make this club what it is.

But there’s always more to do, and we know there are co-owners out there who could lend a hand in other ways. Right now, we’re looking for extra support in the following areas:

• Marketing: If you have senior marketing expertise, we’d love your help refining our approach to promoting the club. This role could involve working with the Board, the Marketing and Communications Committee, or the Commercial Committee.
• Matchday Stewards: Our security team does a great job ensuring a safe and welcoming matchday experience. We’d love to expand our group of volunteer stewards to help reduce matchday costs.
• FC Diggers: Broadhurst Park is a big site, and keeping it looking its best takes effort. We’re looking for volunteers to help maintain the grounds so we can keep our home looking great for supporters and local residents.
• Fundraising Coordinator: This admin role only requires a couple of hours a week and focuses on keeping our fundraising efforts visible—helping to promote club fundraising schemes and share updates.
• Social Media & Engagement Strategy: We’re looking for experienced or self-taught social media experts to help us optimise our platforms and shape our overall engagement strategy. This is a great opportunity to play a role in strengthening how FC United connects with supporters, co-owners, and the wider community.
