FC women's team to play in Futsal FA Cup

The FC United women’s team has responded to a proposal from Moston JFC coach and advocate of Futsal, Paul Halton, by forming a women’s team for the Women’s FA Futsal Cup.

Following a series of postponed matches, the women’s squad are keen to maintain their fitness and pull on the FC shirt a bit more often. To that end they will play in a series of mini-league matches at Wright Robinson College, Gorton, commencing this Friday, 7 February at 7pm.

Paul Halton said: "An opportunity arose to enter a team into the FA Women’s Futsal Cup, which is a national tournament. With the connection I had with FC United I thought it would be a great opportunity to introduce the women’s squad to the world of Futsal. If the players show as much commitment as they do on the grass, I believe that we can reach the finals at the Copper Box Olympic stadium in London, which would be an excellent experience for all involved."
