FC United v Gloucester City Sat 8th August: Match Arrangements

FC United’s first ever match in the Vanarama National League North will be a visit to play Gloucester City on Saturday 8th August 2015, kick off 3.00pm. Please note that this match will be played at Cheltenham Town FC’s ground:

Disabled (wheelchair spaces) is provided and those wishing to avail themselves of this facility need to just present themselves at the turnstiles. Carers go free and car parking is available without prior booking.

Gloucester City have asked that we bring this pre-match meal to our supporters’ attention.

“The Sponsorship Lounge will be open from 1.15pm with a Pay Bar in operation. You will be treated to a superb two course meal, courtesy of our in house chef and supported by our first class staff; dietary options are available on request in advance.
Space is limited due to high interest already being shown, so book early to avoid disappointment.
Cost including meals, main stand seating (or transfer to the away end as appropriate), match programme and car parking is priced at £35 per head adults and £30 concessions. Children prices applicable on enquiry. That’s a great package price for what’s bound to be an exciting day.
We cater for any size of party from individuals up to ten guest tables.

Gloucester City have liaised closely with FC United over the match arrangements and wish to make the match for our supporters as easy and pleasant as possible and they intend to achieve this through working with the club and our supporters.

The stewarding is friendly and firm, provided by qualified and experienced stewards of Cheltenham Town FC (so they will not be biased/partisan towards/against either set of supporters). Unfortunately, there will be segregation in force and FC United supporters will be accommodated in the Hazelwood Stand which is accessed directly from Whaddon Road. The clubhouse has limited capacity and it is unlikely that our supporters will be allowed into it, especially before the match.

Road Directions (postcode for SatNav is GL52 5NA)

Parking at the ground will be at a premium, and supporters travelling by car are advised to arrive in Cheltenham early and to seek alternate parking arrangements. The ground is located in a predominantly residential area with match-day parking restrictions applying (so you are advised to park with care!). There are a number of town centre car parks within 10-15 minutes’ walk of the stadium.

From the North (M5): Leave M5 at junction 10 - follow road (A4019 towards Cheltenham. Keep straight on through Traffic Lights, until you come to large roundabout (PC World on right & McDonalds on left), turn left. About 500 yards up this road, you will come to double mini roundabout, go straight over. Keep going about 300 yards, then turn right into Swindon Lane, follow this road over level crossing and two mini roundabouts until you come to larger roundabout. Go straight over (signposted Prestbury), continue past racecourse and turn right (Albert Road), follow this to the end and at a roundabout turn left into Prestbury Road. After 200 yards turn right into Whaddon Road, the ground and car park are 300 yards on left.

From the South (M5): Exit M5 at junction 11, follow signs to Cheltenham, you will then be on A40. Continue over first roundabout then at next roundabout bear right, following signs for Oxford A40. After half a mile continue over a set of traffic lights then after another half a mile continue over some more lights, bearing left slightly and continuing to follow signs for Oxford A40. Go straight over next roundabout (still following Oxford A40). At next traffic lights turn right then immediately left into Sandford Road. Continue to a mini roundabout and turn left (still signposted Oxford A40). At next traffic lights continue straight over onto B4075 (signposted Prestbury). After half a mile bear right, staying on B4075 as it becomes Priors Road. Take the next left into Whaddon Road, continue over a mini roundabout and the ground is on the right-hand side.

From London/Oxford A40: Follow road into and through Charlton Kings, you will come to some lights where the Cirencester Road joins from left. Go straight on, but at next set of lights turn right into Hales Road. This is the B4075 (signposted Prestbury). After half a mile bear right, staying on B4075 as it becomes Priors Road. Take the next left into Whaddon Road, continue over a mini roundabout and the ground is on the right-hand side.

From London/Swindon A417: As the A417 continues downhill towards Cheltenham, passing the Air Balloon public house on the left, you will reach a roundabout. Take the first exit signposted Gloucester A417. Continue to junction with M5 motorway then head north on M5 (signposted Worcester). Stay on M5 for one junction then leave at Junction 11 and head towards Cheltenham. Follow directions as above from M5 South.

Train/Bus
Cheltenham Spa railway station is over 2 miles and a good 30/40 minutes’ walk from the ground. Take the D or P/Q bus from the station to the town centre then either walk or take bus A to get to Whaddon Road.

Coach
Cheltenham coach station is in the town centre. A walk to the ground will take 20 minutes or take bus A.
