FC United of Manchester are delighted to confirm the signing of experienced defender Andre Wisdom ahead of the 2025/26 season subject to NPL/FA approval and international clearance.
The 32-year-old arrives at Broadhurst Park with a wealth of experience at the highest levels of the game, having represented Liverpool, Derby County, West Bromwich Albion, Norwich City and Red Bull Salzburg during a career that’s seen him play in the Premier League, Championship, Europa League and Austrian Bundesliga.
A composed, powerful defender with leadership qualities and over 200 professional appearances to his name, Wisdom brings pedigree and presence to Mark Beesley’s squad as we continue our preparations for the new campaign.
Having come through the ranks at Liverpool, Andre made his Premier League debut under Brendan Rodgers in 2012, going on to play European football for the Reds before successful spells across the Championship and beyond.
His signing represents a significant addition to the squad and reflects the club’s ongoing commitment to building a competitive and ambitious squad ahead of the new season.
Andre will join up with the squad immediately and is expected to feature in our upcoming pre-season fixtures.
