FC United of Manchester Stands with Fans Protesting Against the Glazers

Manchester United is being strangled by 20 years of the Glazer family’s debts. One of the world’s great sporting institutions is being allowed to wither, and if nothing is done, it will die.

FC United of Manchester was founded in 2005 in direct opposition to the Glazer family's takeover of Manchester United. At the time, we warned that a corporate raid by absentee owners, driven by greed rather than football, would only end in decline. We take no joy in being proved right.

The effects of their mismanagement and avarice are plain for all to see.

-             The club is heading for its worst season on the pitch since 1974;

-             Old Trafford, an historic, world-famous stadium, has been completely neglected;

-             Ticket prices are rising beyond the reach of ordinary fans;

-             Loyal staff are being thrown on the scrapheap;

-             The club has been asset-stripped to serve the financial interests of its owners.

All of this is down to the Glazers’ misrule; having taken what was a self-sufficient football club, loading it with debt, and treating it as a personal piggy bank for the last two decades.

The True Cost of the Glazers' Ownership

Over the course of their ownership, £1.1 billion has been drained from the club in interest payments, dividends, and fees, serving absolutely no benefit to the football club. Despite this, the club’s debt is as high as it has ever been.

Old Trafford has been left to rot while rivals invest in world-class facilities. Leaks, broken seats, and outdated amenities now define the "Theatre of Dreams".

Mass redundancies of hardworking staff, with reports that one in three employees face the sack while the club prioritises profits over people.

Fan exploitation at an all-time high, with child ticket prices hitting an obscene £66 and talk of £6,000-a-match corporate packages. Long-standing season ticket holders, the club’s lifeblood, are at risk of being forced out.

Safety concerns as away fans are sold tickets in home sections, all in the pursuit of extra revenue, whilst the club attempts to blame innocent fans and strip them of their tickets.

Funding cuts to the Ex-Players’ Association, stripping away support for those who built Manchester United’s legacy.

The Only Language They Understand

For 20 years, Manchester United fans have protested, campaigned, and demanded change. The club has ignored them at every turn. History shows that the only currency the Glazers and their partners understand is money. If fans want real change, they must hit them where it hurts—by withholding their financial support.

FC United of Manchester stands with all fans rising up against this ongoing betrayal of our club.

Football deserves better.

Manchester deserves better.

The fans deserve better.

The Glazers must go
