FC United of Manchester is thrilled to have been selected as one of the Big Issue Changemakers of 2026 for our community work.
Every year, the UK's leading street newspaper and social enterprise, The Big Issue, highlights 100 individuals and organisations making a meaningful difference across the UK.
The Big Issue Changemaker judges said: “FC United’s work stood out for its impact, integrity and importance at a time when positive change truly matters.”
Our nomination highlighted the huge range of our club’s community work, including the twice-weekly Youth Hub, women's fitness classes, the Manchester City Council STEP project, which works with young people with disabilities, and the weekly Sporting Memories group.
Our Community Manager, Stacy Partridge, said: “In a time when communities often feel divided or neglected, FC United continues to bring people together through shared purpose, compassion, and grassroots action.
“In an era marked by the cost-of-living crisis, funding cuts to youth and community services, and increasing isolation, FC United has shown how a football club can be so much more than a sporting organisation – it can be a genuine force for good.”
