FC United are one of five clubs featured in a new report published today by Supporters Direct and launched at an event at Parliament.
Grounds for Benefit: Protecting Community Benefit in Football Stadia contains five case studies exploring different ways in which the interests of supporters and benefits for communities can be delivered through football stadia. Commissioned from Manchester research cooperative Substance, the report also makes recommendations on how national and local policy and football governance can be improved to help ensure supporters interests are protected.
The section on FC Untied outlines how measures have been put in place - through planning and lease agreements with the council, the club’s own asset lock and community benefit objectives as well as grant funding agreements - to make sure the local community will benefit when the club develops its stadium in Moston.
