Community Gym at Broadhurst Park

On arrival at the ground today, supporters may notice some building work going on at the ground – we’re delighted to announce that we’re transforming an unused space at the ground into a fantastic new community gym!

This gym will be a real asset, offering a variety of daytime classes like bootcamps and chair-based exercises, all at a low cost to ensure they’re accessible to everyone in our local community. In the evenings, it will be used as a training space for our men’s and women’s teams, providing facilities specifically designed to support rehab and prehab.

The renovation is set to take around two weeks and has been made possible thanks to funding from Sport England, which is covering the build, and the Jigsaw Foundation, which is providing some of the essential equipment.

We would also like to thank MCRActive and Morrisso Health for their help with the funding bids, as they will become key partners in delivering the classes.

We’re reaching out for a bit of community support to help bring this project to life. Once the build is complete, we’ll need volunteers to lend a hand with painting the gym and finding an effective flooring solution—like gym matting—to ensure it’s safe and comfortable for everyone to use. This gym is being built for the community, so it would be fantastic to see the community get involved in its final stages.

Your help will make a huge difference, and we can’t wait to see this space become a hub of activity and well-being for everyone to enjoy!
