Dave Brown released to play for Salford City
Since captaining FC to victory over AFC Wimbledon Dave Brown has been a spectator; the form of Rob Nugent and David Chadwick plus the blistering start to the season has limited the opportunities to play for the first team and Karl Marginson has reluctantly allowed Dave to move on to Salford City:
’The move represents a magnificent opportunity for Browny to get regular football at the same level we are at. Players move regularly between teams at this level and we may not have seen the last of him at FC, if the situation changes he would be welcomed back with open arms.’
Dave explained that he needs games to keep himself fit:
’I don’t want to leave FC but I am at an age when the end of my career is closer than I would like and in what could well be my final season I need to be playing regularly in order to maintain my match fitness.
’The experience of playing for FC has been fantastic and nobody in their right mind would want to give it up, everything about the club is first class, the support, the backroom staff and the opportunity that the club is offering players cannot be bettered - I just love it all.
’Last season was an experience I will never forget and I hope to be part of the club in the future. Oh, and whoever caught me boots in Leipzig can you please get in touch as I need them back for Saturday.’
