Dan Atherton Signs for FC United

FC United of Manchester are pleased to announce the signing of goalkeeper Dan Atherton from Warrington Town ahead of the 2025/26 season. This is subject to FA/NPL approval

At 25, Dan arrives at Broadhurst Park on the back of an impressive spell in the National League North, where he’s been one of the league’s standout keepers. A big presence in the box, he brings experience, composure and real quality as we build towards the new campaign.

A product of the Liverpool FC Academy, Dan’s also played for Marine, Hyde and The New Saints in Wales, and is known for his sharp reflexes, vocal presence and strong distribution.

He links up again with First Team Manager Mark Beesley – someone he knows well and has worked with before. That familiarity will be a real asset as we shape a competitive squad for the season ahead.
