CYCM Preview: Warrington Town

First off, ta ever so to the many of you who turned up to support Malcolmses before the last home game. We went up against the derby with some trepidation, but woo hoo you ate all the pies, and our band The Zangwills were really pleased with the numbers and enthusiasm levels of their audience. And we all got more beers in to toast United's win.  Cheers.

So, back to looking ahead.  It's Saturday and it's another game against a team from Warrington (which is kind of weird).  Our band will be coming all the way from Coventry to play for us. They are The Institutes, and based almost certainly on the fact that we've booked them ???? they have been invited to play at this summer's Kendal Calling.  You can book tickets for that from Saturday but once you've done that, make sure you get to your football ground early to catch them live at Malcolms Calling.  Possibly the first band from the Midlands to play for us, The Institutes have a local connection as they are label mates of previous CYCM acts Narcissus and Plain Navy. Cheers to our pals at Mancunian mainstay 42's Records for making the introduction.  You can find out more about The Institutes and their debut album Colosseums here

We will be kicking things off around 2pm with Baz's Thought for the Day.  Good news for the famished, we'll be back to our usual order size of Openshaw's finest tater ash and cheese pies which will arrive 1-ish - it's worth getting there as early as you can to make sure you snaffle one. And there will of course be the accompanying homemade mushy peas (have you tried them with mint sauce on top? Truly one of the wonders of the culinary world). This week's muffins will be date and ale flavour.  Yes I know I said that last time but this time it's going to happen.  See you there.
