We've good news particularly for those of you who were lying on a beach still in mid-August this year. Or on a train in rural Romania. Or trekking with alpacas. Anyway, the day we played Atherton Collieries our band in the new-look CYCM space was Spin Klass, and splendidly they have offered to come and play for us again ahead of Saturday's game v Warrington Rylands Library. They are fitting us in as part of their Tour De North, which will see them come to Gulliver's in town on 20 November (tickets at https://www.ticketweb.uk/event/spin-klass-gullivers-tickets/12530075?pl=ceg). And we'll be amongst the first to hear, live, tunes from their new EP Feral Bop.
You can find out more about Spin Klass at https://linktr.ee/spinklass, and they're on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNpBPy0JzbOm_KYCoBMZyUg. Our resident NME journo wannabe has also conducted an Instagram Q&A with Chris Maddon from the band, which is at https://www.instagram.com/malcolmses/
Quirky Factoid: since last playing at Malcolmses Spin Klass have also set up their own pre-match gig at Altrincham. 'Alty Live' has so far been a one-off though apparently, presumably they've no-one dotty enough to attempt it on a regular basis...
So get yourself to your football ground nice and early on Saturday to celebrate
* the return of the muffins
* pies full of tater ash or cheesy goodness
* mushy peas hand-soaked in finest Welsh spring water for 12 hours, simmered gently on a traditional Colwyn Bay stove ahead of being expertly swished and blended, well OK thrown around in Stu from the Bay's boot, and
*live music from Spin Klass at around 2.15pm.
Sounds like a plan.
