FC United of Manchester FC United of Manchester FC United of Manchester Badge FC United of Manchester Pitch In

CYCM: Matlock Town

We have a right cracking line-up at Course You Can Malcolm this Saturday, with comic Kat Malinari (self-described as "Published pun writer and another queer curly-haired woman obsessed with Kate Bush. Chappell Groan, if you will.") and Manchester’s finest party starters, Loose Articles.

As mentioned in our earlier update, the band’s guitarist, Erin Caine is a fellow FC fan and was responsible for the limited-edition FC United CD version of their debut LP, ‘Scream If You Want To Go Faster’. Sadly, they’ve sold out of those, but they will have copies of the record available for purchase on Saturday. (They even have a card reader, so are out-doing the cash-only CYCM pie stand).

In the hope of raising some much-welcome funds for the club, Loose Articles have agreed to sign one of our Women’s team ‘suffragette’ home-shirts and a super-rare white-label copy of their debut single. Tickets are £1 each and you can buy as many as you like. (One or a million). Please add your name into the comment box when paying. We’ll close online sales as the turnstiles open at 1pm on Sat 21 and sell them at CYCM until the draw. We’ll share the online ticket numbers with you some time after 1pm.

You don't need a PayPal account to donate and please make sure you do it through family and friends so PayPal don’t deduct any fees.

So, the usual drill, but get down early as it’s Youth United Day, which means free admission for Under 21s so even with our new, larger space (can’t wait to see it in action) there may be no room.

The cask ale offer this game is Courier Brew Co’s Berating The Ceiling and Holt’s Fools Gold and Chorlton Pale. Our wonderful pie-maker, Rose, is back and will be supplying as many cheese or tater hash pies as will fit into her voluminous oven. Welsh mushy-peas will also be in supply.

No news yet on what variety of muffin will be available for the usual £1 donation, but will update.

So. Gates open at 13.00, free entry if you can’t grow a proper beard. Pies and peas usually arrive about 13.30 (the Divs aren’t at home so that complication won’t matter), our foul-mouthed but multi-talented compere Baz will open proceedings about 13.45, Kat will be on around 13.50 and Loose Articles about 14.05 so we can all get out to see the match at 15.00. And it’s about time we gave another team a right duffing up…
