Club statement on our points deduction

At the game against Warrington Town on the 24th September 2022, FC United mistakenly fielded six loan players instead of the maximum five that are allowed. As a result, the club will be deducted the three points gained in this fixture.

Whilst the club does undertake due diligence on players and endeavours to make sure that all checks are in place, on this occasion there was an oversight in checking what was allowed on the field.

We would like to reassure our supporters and our players that we are tightening up on our procedures, to mitigate these mistakes, and that staff do not take the impact of this lightly.

Whilst we share our fans’ frustration that these hard-fought points are lost, the loss has also had a deep impact on the staff and volunteers at the club who work tirelessly for the benefit of FC United. We would also like to ask that you continue to give your positive support to the players in what has been a successful run of recent games.
