Brian Richardson, the club’s Head of Recruitment and Player Pathways, has announced his decision to leave the club to take up a role at Bury FC.
Brian initially joined the club back in May 2019, taking on the role of Assistant Manager and held that position until September 2021 when he left to take over as manager at Bootle FC. After leaving Bootle in 2022, Brian returned to Broadhurst Park to take on his current role.
Brian has always been a popular character around the club, and his wealth of knowledge and experience of non-league has been invaluable to the club in his time with us. We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Brian for his service.
Brian said: “This has been an incredibly difficult decision for me, but the offer from Bury is an exciting new challenge that I felt I couldn’t turn down.”
Reflecting on his time with FC he said: “I’ve absolutely loved my time at Broadhurst Park, and it has been a privilege to work alongside so many great people. I must give a special mention to the fans, who never stop singing – win, lose or draw. I’ve made so many friends at the club who I will miss but I know I’ll be back to see you all in the future.”
“I’d like to wish Mark, Dave and everyone else at the club all the best for the rest of the season and for the future”
Board chair Nick Boom said; “Brian’s contribution to the club has been immense. Alongside his work with the first team, he also played a key role in supporting our pathway teams, particularly the U21s.”
“His knowledge, passion, and dedication have left a lasting impact on us all, and we’re incredibly grateful for everything he’s done.”
“Brian will always be a friend of the club, and his influence will be felt for years to come. We wish him all the very best for the future.”
