To celebrate the club's 20 year anniversary, we were proud to welcome former Manchester United and England Captain, Bryan Robson, for a very special Fundraising Dinner.
Following a drinks reception and photos with Captain Marvel himself, guests enjoyed a wonderful three course meal, during which our club captain, Charlie Ennis, answered questions about FC United of Manchester and his career, posed to him by our match day commentator, James Quinn.
Guests were then treated to some fabulous stories from Robbo, including an off the cuff impression of David Beckham! He talked about his hopes for Manchester United under Michael Carrick’s management; playing with the Class of ’92; Fergie’s ‘hair dryer treatment’; and how he celebrated winning the European Cup Winners Cup with Brian McClair! Robbo then answered questions posed by our guests.
Following on from this, we held a huge raffle and auction. Auction prizes included an overnight getaway including dinner, bed and breakfast at The Moorcock Inn; signed FC United Team shirts; a signed Paul Scholes Football Boot; signed Bryan Robson shirts and an FC United shirt signed by our co-owner, Eric Cantona!
The evening was hugely enjoyable and raised £5,000 for FC United. We would like to thank everyone who attended and the people and businesses who donated prizes to our raffle. Lastly, we would like to thank the staff and volunteers who worked so hard in making such an important evening in the club’s history a great success.
