FC United today announced that Trafford forward Rory Fallon has signed for the club. Fallon, 24, is an attacking midfielder who has also previously played for Witton Albion and Hyde FC. He was a member of Trafford’s promotion team in 2012-13 and last season played 48 league and cup games for the club. He also once turned out in a pre-season friendly for FC United against Chadderton in July 2012.
Commenting on the signing, FC United manager Karl Marginson, said: "Rory is a great addition to the squad. He has pace and lots of skill and gives us another attacking option from the midfield area. It’s important that we take opportunities to strengthen the squad as we are going to need all our players over a long season. We have already seen players drop out of the reckoning due to injury and this is part of football. We need the amount of players we have on our books to ensure that we can sustain the team’s challenge on all fronts."
Rory Fallon commented: “When I found out there was interest from FC United it was an easy decision to sign for the club. I’ve played against FC a few times and you’re always aware of the magnificent support from the crowd. It’s got to give you an extra buzz playing in front of supporters like that and the club’s ambition with the new stadium is there for all to see. I know a few of the squad already from playing against them and I’m really looking forward to being an FC United player.???
