Appointments made to two key volunteer roles

FC United are delighted to announce the appointment of two new volunteers to key roles within the club. Both are already in post and are looking forward to getting stuck in and making a positive impact.

New Volunteer Coordinator – Les Croft

The Volunteer Coordinator role is an integral one for the club as it is the point of contact for all who make up our volunteer army. Whether you hold a regular role or get stuck in with one-off tasks such as getting the ground ready for a new season, Les will be the person to get in touch with any feedback, queries or concerns.

He’ll be helping to collate our monthly total of volunteer hours which help to demonstrate our social impact and have previously contributed to grant applications for the club and our community programme.

Les is a friendly face to many on a match day, often attending with his wife and son – if you haven’t said hello yet, please drop him an email and he will be keen to get in touch and discuss which volunteering role is right for you. Email volunteer@fc-utd.uk

Football Supporters’ Association Rep (Women’s Team) – Mat Williamson

Many will be aware that Nick Duckett has been the club’s long-standing Football Supporters’ Association Rep, ensuring we have a presence throughout the supporter-ownership network. Nick’s work has built a good relationship between the club and the FSA which is crucial as we continue to campaign for better football governance and a better relationship between fans, regulators and clubs.

The Women’s game has exploded in interest in recent years and the FSA are working hard to ensure the supporter-ownership model is at the forefront of this growth. They have been encouraging clubs throughout their network to have a dedicated FSA rep for their Women’s Team to ensure the voice of supporters are heard.

The club are thrilled to announce Mat Williamson has taken up this role for the club and has already attended his first network meeting. Mat will now be liaising with the FSA – and working with Nick Duckett – to ensure our Women’s Team supporters have a direct link into the supporter-ownership network to help shape the future of the game. Mat will champion FC United, our Women’s Team, and fan ownership wherever he can.

Mat can be contacted at fsawomen@fc-utd.uk

I’m sure everyone would like to welcome both to their respective roles and look forward to future developments as they settle in.
