WINSTANLEY COLLEGE 2 FC UNITED of MANCHESTER ACADEMY 'A' TEAM 1
The FC United of Manchester Academy ’A’ team were knocked out of the Greater Manchester Schools FA Under 18s County Cup at the quarter-final stage following this 2-1 away defeat at Winstanley College on Wednesday afternoon.
The home side opened the scoring on 45 minutes through TOM REID and then extended their lead on 60 minutes when FC United’s ABDUL MUKTADIR (o.g.) unfortunately netted at the wrong end.
The Young Reds pulled one back on 62 minutes when XAVIER IWEGBU scored for the visitors, but an equaliser wasn’t forthcoming in the remaining minutes as Winstanley College progressed safely through to the semi-finals.
