FC United of Manchester’s Academy ’B’ team opened their season 2017-2018 league campaign in the ECFA North West Invitation 3A division with a 0-1 away defeat against Rochdale Sacred Heart Men’s 1sts at Belfield Mill Lane on Wednesday afternoon.
After an evenly matched but goal-less first half, the home side took the lead in the 59th minute when RYAN CARROLL netted after a testing shot had rebounded off the crossbar.
FC United’s Ben Tamila went close to grabbing an equaliser for the Young Reds, but the home side held on for the win.
