FC United of Manchester Youth crashed to a four goal reverse against Preston North End Youth (Myerscough) in their latest National League u19 Alliance Division ’J’ League fixture on Wednesday afternoon.
The home side took the lead on 40 minutes after Steeve Eddy was adjudged to have fouled a player inside the penalty area.
PAUL TURNER stepped up to send Thomas Bamber the wrong way from the twelve yard spot.
On 47 minutes, Preston North End Youth (Myerscough) went 2-0 up as JAMIE DERBYSHIRE took full advantage of hesitancy in the FC United six yard box to net from close range.
On 90 minutes, the home side made sure of the result when SAM BARKER scored at the second attempt after his initial effort had been parried by the FC United of Manchester ’keeper.
And in the second minute of time added on, the ball fell nicely for ALEXANDER CAUNCE to prod the ball home from three yards out for goal number four, making the final score 4-0.
Elsewhere, FC Halifax Town’s 2-1 win away at Gateshead today sees them crowned as divisional champions.
