FC United of Manchester’s Academy ’A’ team produced a fine team performance to record a narrow single goal away win against iSports Rochdale Sacred Heart Men’s 1sts on Wednesday afternoon.
The result moves the team into third place in the AoC Sport North West Championship Invitation (East) league table following the fixture at Belfield Mill Lane, Rochdale.
What proved to be the decisive goal came on 31 minutes. Leo Pinto Rocha sent over a nicely weighted cross from the right, and EMMANUEL UJAHCHUKU was on hand to steer the ball home.
And a fine second half save under the crossbar from goalkeeper Tom Bamber ensured that there was to be no way back for the home outfit as the Young Reds held on for a win by the slimmest of margins.
