FC UNITED of MANCHESTER YOUTH 3 DARLINGTON YOUTH 2
FC United of Manchester Youth recorded their first National League u19 Alliance Division ’J’ league win of the new 2017-2018 season with this narrow 3-2 win against Darlington Youth on Wednesday afternoon on the main Broadhurst Park grass pitch.
The Young Reds opened the scoring on just 12 minutes when MASON GREGG was first to react after Jacobe Anderson’s shot was parried by the Darlington ’keeper.
The visitors pulled level on 26 minutes when DALE MILBURN took advantage of a mix-up in the FC United defence and netted from just inside the home penalty area.
On 37 minutes, FC United regained the lead when HARRY KERSHAW was allowed to run in at goal before curling the ball into the roof of the net.
Less than two minutes later, and it was all level again, when Darlington’s LUKE JENKINSON was left free to loop the ball home.
Into the second half and at 2-2, either side could easily have snatched a winner, and it was substitute NELSON ONWUSIRI who did just that for the home side, as he side footed home Harry Kershaw’s left wing cross on 83 minutes.
