FC United of Manchester’s Academy ’B’ team drew 2-2 with The Football College (North Manchester) Men’s 2nds on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Wednesday afternoon, a result which keeps the Young Reds in second place in the ECFA North West Men’s Invitation 3A League table.
Despite conceding an early goal after just 11 minutes, scored by LUCA ELLIS, the home side fought back and levelled on 56 minutes when JACOBE ANDERSON ran through unopposed to steer the ball home past the visitors’ keeper.
A 25 yard direct free-kick from MASON GREGG on 87 minutes looked to have secured the FC United Academy ’B’ team all three points, but there was still time for the away team’s LUCA ELLIS to grab a deserved equaliser on 90 minutes.
The FC United of Manchester Academy ’B’ team are back in action on Monday afternoon with a home 1st round Greater Manchester Schools FA under 18s County Cup tie vs Ashton Sixth Form College (KO 2.00 p.m.)
