FC United of Manchester’s Academy ’A’ team kicked off their English Colleges FA North West Men’s Category 2B league programme with this 2-2 home draw against Accrington & Rossendale College Men’s 2nds at Broadhurst Park on Wednesday afternoon.
And this was despite conceding a goal almost straight from the kick off when JORDAN RUSSELL took advantage of hesitancy in the home defence to net easily after just 15 seconds.
On 26 minutes, FC United’s Academy ’A’ team drew level when ELLIOT JORGE SIMOES INACIO latched onto Leo Elvin’s through ball before slotting the ball home to make the score 1-1 at half-time.
Into the second half and the visitors regained the lead on 55 minutes when TOM KEELINGS lobbed home ’keeper Sully Sajjad from the right hand side.
It was left to ELLIOT JORGE SIMOES INACIO to restore parity on 79 minutes when he dusted himself down after being tripped inside the penalty area to send visiting ’keeper Luke Cocker the wrong way from the 12 yard spot.
