Match Report

Chances were relatively few and far between as Chorley and FC United of Manchester ground out a 0-0 draw at a damp Victory Park on Saturday afternoon.

The best chances for the visitors all came in the opening 20 minutes as James Joyce, Paul Ennis and Chris Sharp went close to beating trialist home ’keeper Joe Anton.

At the other end, Chorley’s Chris Holroyd did have the ball in the FC United net as the half-time interval loomed, but his effort was chalked off for an infringement.

Alex Newby might have done better for the home side in the second half but he shot wide of goalkeeper Paddy Wharton on the hour mark.

That was that as the match then petered out for a goalless draw.

FC United of Manchester are back in pre-season action on Tuesday 30th July 2019 when they host Chester FC at Broadhurst Park, KO 7.45 p.m.
