FC United’s women’s team are through to the final of the Greater Manchester Women’s Football League open age cup, after an emphatic 5-0 semi-final victory today over Curzon Ashton Ladies. Goals from Beth Tattersall, Kirsty Chambers, Hayley O’Hara and a brace from Amy Vyas, fired FC into the final in their first ever season.
In the final, FC’s women will face Manchester City Ladies, who beat Middleton Athletic 5-1 in their semi-final today. Given that City are about to win the league, the final will have added spice and a bumper crowd is expected for the game, which takes place on Sunday 5 May 2013 at Moor Lane, the home of Salford City FC.
